Early Years Practitioner
(Maternity Cover)
Full-Time | March 2026 – January 2027
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a full-time basis, covering maternity leave from 16 March 2026 to January 2027, with the potential for a permanent position thereafter.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to take on room leadership responsibilities, including deputising for the manager in her absence. The salary will be reflective of this additional responsibility.
The successful candidate will work full time on a shift pattern, supporting high-quality early years provision in a nurturing, engaging and well-organised environment.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing at all times, taking responsibility for every aspect of their care and routines.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and stimulating activities for children aged 1-4 years old.
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development by creating a positive, enjoyable learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff in order to facilitate labelling and learning development.
- Develop positive and productive relationships with parents, ensuring they are kept well informed of their child's progress and development.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for the children.
- Follow and comply with policies, procedures, and legal obligations of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Requirements:
- A suitable Early Years Education qualification.
- Experience working with young children, preferably within a nursery or Early Years setting.
- Passionate about the academic, emotional, and physical development of children.
- Ability to support the children in self-care, development, and play activities.
- Excellent communication, social, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work, able to adapt to various situations and challenging circumstances.
